If Gisele jumped off a bridge, I would too.

The packaging looks different because the products are packaged differently in the US but they are filled with the same yummy ingredients and...I think Gisele looks pretty damn good.
voila!

the Dr. Alkaitis is in the house

If you missed the Dr. Alkaitis event last Saturday, it's still not too late to stop by the shop for a skin-food facial and test out the products. Susan Marsh, art director/editor of Under the Influence Magazine, was glowing after her facial which erased all signs of her 'nuit-blanche' the night before...she will confer. The skin-food facial is the Dr. Alkaitis organic Universal Mask mixed with one teaspoon of organic goats milk yogurt and raw organic honey. This treatment has just won the award for facial of the year in Wallpaper magazine's 2009 Design Awards issue. It's totally edible and delicious too, if you don't believe me check out the ingredients:

Oat Buds*, Organic Grass Juice Complex (Kamut Grass*. Alfalfa*, Oat Grass* and Wheat Grass*), Sea Vegetable Complex (Chlorella°, Dulse°, Spirulina°, Ainu-Wakame*, Sea Palm° and Red Algae°), Goat’s Milk Protein*. Vegetable Complex (Carrots*, Cabbage, Sweet Potato*, Kale*, Broccoli*, Asparagus, Brussels Sprouts, Cucumber, Ginger*, Onions, Cauliflower, Beets*, Tomatoes* and Parsley*). Organic Seed Complex (Pumpkin*, Sesame*, Amaranth*, Flax*, Soy*, Oats*, Rye*, Buckwheat*, Millet*, Barley*, Brown Rice*, and Sunflower*).
* - Signifies certified organically grown

...is your skin hungry now?

More exciting news in the world of organic spas here. People are catching on and we are excited to be one of the few to offer this quality goodness (goddess?) in Paris. We are off to Los Angeles on Saturday for some sea, sex and sun...ummm....actually the Galerie Deborah Zafman is participating in the LA Art Show which runs from the Jan 21st - Jan 25th. (more on that soon)

peace out.

cool moon round sound

it's 5am and I can't sleep.

I guess this would be the perfect time to get up, make a tea and have a very full day...if my day could be as full as this moon outside my window, that would be wonderful. There is so much happening right now, it's enough reason not to sleep. Last night we had a beautiful gathering at the Galerie Deborah Zafman, le laboratoire des suppositions, where Martin Bakero and Dan Charles Dahan seduced us with their poetry and sound. It was a ceremony to welcome and awaken the new year. With wonderful guests and some large gas powered heaters, we all kept warm, illuminated by Martin’s artful projections and I served up some thick spicy hot chocolate and mulled wine.

This week, Ambri Zeboski is joining me at Lait de Lune and serving up our trademark yummy lavender and honey cakes, and as long as it stays this cold in Paris, the hot chocolate (which is all organic!) will be flowing. We are also offering a great drink for those with sugar-free resolutions....a “cocktail” of organic green vegetable juice with spinach, celery, cucumber, and whatever yummy veg calls to us that day and some fresh pear to sweeten it up served in a martini glass with some fresh fruit on the side. We call it the “green-tini” and I assure you it will power you through the day. Call off the booze and get your juice on. I can’t wait to make my green-juice this morning!

also...the darling Joel Riff just featured Lait de Lune in his weekly broadcast called Curieux. We are very proud to be the first feature of the first week of 2009! The blog is stunning and full of beautiful images and great reviews. I am also proud to be featured along side the Academia show at the Beaux Arts which I saw last month and it blew my mind. Joel is your basic superhero - with dashing looks, he performs unimaginable feats of visiting more than 80 expositions a month! Thank you Joel, for visiting Lait de Lune! and many thanks to Danielle Voirin for the gorgeous photos of Lait de Lune...if Joel is like Batman, Danielle is definitely Cat Woman...with a camera...and I think she would look damn sexy in a cat-suit.

excuse me while I go howl at the moon....

Babycakes

Ottolenghi, London...divine inspiration

Once upon a time, I was the sous-baker for my dear friend Audrey Bernstein in LA when she first started the Bluebird Bakery. We whipped up buttercreams, petitfours, cupcakes and brownies. My passion for baking actually started when I was a little girl and my parents geared up our kitchen to an industrial level. Although Paris has plenty patisseries to please those with the sweetest tooth, I much prefer the English or American sugary cakes you find in places like the Magnolia Bakery in NYC or the Hummingbird Bakery in London. There is one bakery in Paris that makes some incredible cakes with violets but I have a suggestion of my own....for a limited time Lait de Lune is selling lavender and honey teacake made with organic ingredients and lavender grown by Hal and Mary Ann Glicksman in their magical garden in Ymerey, France.
You can place an order for a large cake 28 euro (serves 12) or individual cakes 3 euro ea. (minimum order of 6) and stop by the shop from 15hr to 20hr to enjoy some jasmine tea and cake at the shop. Order now! love@laitdelune.com
